C.
Ann Ross
Self-taught
artist C. Ann Ross has developed wide ranging interests and
talents in her life's journey. Although she has had no formal
education in art, she became a skilled conservator cleaning
and restoring paintings for art dealers and auction houses
in Pennsylvania in the mid 80's. Designing couture clothing
was her primary occupation for 24 years; but, when an auto
accident impaired her ability to see well enough to sew for
a living, she poured her creative talent into the pursuit
of art. Primarily working with mixed-media polymer clay, she
fashions unique and lovely jewelry, embellishments and home
décor. Three of her original art pieces were juried
into the “Celebration of Black History in the 21st Century”
at the SmokeBrush Foundation's Art
Gallery in Colorado Springs, Colorado in February, 2005 and
she is the founder of the Emerald Coast Polymer Clay Guild.
“I
love the beauty and splendor of the colors in nature and work
to include the vibrancy of life and my love of life in my
work. My home is filled with children's books and toys to
remind me to remain whimsical and fun loving. I also, most
importantly, give all credit for anything delightful or pleasing
that I may create to Jesus Christ.”
